Even though I am buried under a ton of obligations, I really wanted to do something for myself. Therefore, I am starting a graphic novel/comic book side project. This project, for now, is for my own personal edification. When I was younger, I really wanted to be either a comic book artist or an animator. And, admittedly, I’d rather do something along the lines of an indie animation project—but that is too time intensive.
This project is more about learning and having some fun. My greatest hope is that I achieve stylistically what I’ve always wanted to do. And as this project has a supernatural/paranormal theme, what better time to launch it than on Halloween (even though the first page could be considered a cheat as it’s just a typography piece; however, it is a valid artform..now, don’t let me get started on the definition of art…)! Also for any typography nuts out there, please comment at my attempt at kerning, etc.

At this time, there is no established post schedule. Again, it’s a learning process for me and more about the final output than meeting a deadline. If you do wander across this though, I hope you enjoy it!

Hi! The only possible reason someone would have come here is if they came from http://www.fmylife.com/. Not because my life is so f***ed up (well…), but because I’m the artist on one of the Illustrated FML’s. So first, thanks for dropping by!

Eight hours ago, there was no website to speak of (some would argue this is still the case!). With the expectation of garnering tens of people in traffic from FML, I set off to create what you now see before you.

Okay, it sucks a bit. There’s something about coding and website building that immediately makes me sleepy, like after eating a big Thanksgiving day dinner. Or listening to golf on TV.

Anyhow, I wanted to at least treat you guys with a bonus prize for visiting: my first attempt (REJECTED!!!) at an illustrated FML.

I’m freaking exhausted.
